I think runway ops call for Anti-skid ON (Caster), and carrier ops call for NWS, so you can use the Hi-gain steering on the deck. That's probably a totally incorrect and gross simplification, though.

Also, is it correct to take off from the carrier with nws set to cast? That's how the aircraft is configured for a hot ramp start, is that only for vtol and nws norm for stol?
