Elwood Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 (edited) Hi all, after some ELINT experiments on ColdWar server I found that this sites contains lot of tools. http://www.viggentools.se/ As I'm new on this module and I would like to cover lot more about it, am I missing anything really useful like the just posted website? Thank you! Love the Viggen and the Mig21 :-D Thank you. Edited February 21, 2018 by Elwood
Zabuzard Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 (edited) To me, a detailed kneeboard always was the key to mastering an aircraft. I used funkyfrankys mod as a base: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=185454 and then modified some pages finally resulting in the attached set of images. As a mod: https://www.file-upload.net/download-12989589/AJS-37CustomKneeboard.zip.html Beyond that I found a QNE calculator useful: http://www.hochwarth.com/misc/AviationCalculator.html While the formula is very easy I prefer entering the height and then simply hit "Compute" instead of doing the simple math on my own. Zabuzard Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Mhhh. Wasn't on my end. Nonetheless, now on a regular host instead of my own machine.
Elwood Posted February 20, 2018 Author Posted February 20, 2018 To me, a detailed kneeboard always was the key to mastering an aircraft. That's really great, I'm copying them on my mobile Now. Will try on the Viggen, tomorrow night. Thank you so much!
Elwood Posted February 20, 2018 Author Posted February 20, 2018 That's my site, glad you like it! :) It's a good one! Are you planning to add anything else? Maybe a mission cartridge online editor? :smilewink:
2-niner Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 It's a good one! Are you planning to add anything else? Maybe a mission cartridge online editor? :smilewink: That's actually a good idea, I'll think about it.
Elwood Posted February 21, 2018 Author Posted February 21, 2018 (edited) That's actually a good idea, I'll think about it. Sure, it maybe needed a good integration with a mapping platform. openstreetmap API? gmaps? Just to let the user to mouse click instead of manual lat/lon insertion. Elwood Posted February 22, 2018 Author Posted February 22, 2018 That's really great, I'm copying them on my mobile Now. Will try on the Viggen, tomorrow night. Thank you so much! So.... I did use them from my mobile, which was great, they are superb in terms of concentration of exactly what you need to know when you need it! So, thank you for that!! Then I tried to manually copy only the PNG files into the the SavedGames.../Kneeboard/ AJS37 folder, but it didn't work. Is it working onlly via JSGME/OvGME ?
Zabuzard Posted February 22, 2018 Posted February 22, 2018 (edited) The problem is that the Viggen currently uses a special kneeboard system. It deactivates the usual way and instead injects the images using special LUA-commands. Alongside with the images you'll need such a LUA-file for each image. The images, together with the LUAs, then go to DCS/Mod/aircraft/AJS37/Cockpit/scripts/KNEEBOARD/indicator/CONTENT That is also where the other special kneeboard pages of the aircraft are located at. There is also a mod which enables the Viggen to search in the usual kneeboard folder too. But you'll still need the script files. Apache600 Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 Zabuza, you've got a really good write up! Nice work. Here's mine that I put together a while ago: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=183759 - Apache600 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] The Museum Relic Campaign: --> http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=164322 Community Missions (SP & MP) --> https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=205546
Elwood Posted February 23, 2018 Author Posted February 23, 2018 (edited) Apache600 great! Seems that will be better if they will let you change the official manual ;-) I'm now able to concentrate on weapon deployment training, but the best part (mostly unique of this module) is the before flight in cockpit flight planning, it gives you so much in terms of satisfaction even if you miss the target ;-) Love that! With the Mig21 I was doing it on paper or with some flight planner (xp11 style). Thank you all. Edited February 23, 2018 by Elwood
