Fire_Starter Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 (edited) Talking about cosmetics only here, does anybody else noticed that the canopy looks completely transparent, like it's made of thin air, or actually like there's no canopy at all? Where are the reflections we used to get prior 2.5 and where are them scratches? It's nothing huge obviously but it does hurt immersion. Edited February 21, 2018 by Fire_Starter
draconus Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 This is Beta and WIP although the reflections are definitely there. Win10 i7-10700KF 32GB RTX4070S Quest 3 T16000M VPC CDT-VMAX TFRP FC3 F-14A/B F-15E CA SC NTTR PG Syria
sslechta Posted February 21, 2018 Posted February 21, 2018 I wonder if it depends on your graphics settings? I see scuff marks on the glass in 2.5. sslechta Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 Hey Fire_Starter, I adjusted several of my graphic options to a higher resolution and now I have the clear glass issue. I will have to go back and figure out which setting triggered it to go clear. RShackleford Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 IMO the cracks and such you see in earlier versions of DCS are way overdone. The image from sslechta shows how overdone the cracks and reflections on them are. If 2.5 did away with them I will be happy lol.
draconus Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 (edited) IMO the cracks and such you see in earlier versions of DCS are way overdone. For me it looks just very different than it is now. But I'm fine with something like that instead of pure glass. With more blinding effect I'll be happy. Setting textures to LOW made the scratches appear for me. It does depends on the graphical settings. I don't know why but if you change your shadows to "FLAT ONLY" you can see scratches in the canopy when you look at the sun and I think they look cool but then the shadows in the cockpit don't look that cool. If you change shadows to LOW,MEDIUM or HIGH then the scratches disappear. :/
Fire_Starter Posted February 28, 2018 Author Posted February 28, 2018 Attached canopy pic from my F-15. See my above answer.
sslechta Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Thanks for the research on that....
