Capn kamikaze Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 What folder, also will it cause problems with multiplayer, I'm running a stock 2.5beta install, and I don't want kicking from servers just because I'm running skins.
Rudel_chw Posted April 4, 2018 Posted April 4, 2018 What folder' date=' also will it cause problems with multiplayer, I'm running a stock 2.5beta install, and I don't want kicking from servers just because I'm running skins.[/quote'] The best place is on the saved games folder, on this path: /your-user-folder/saved games/dcs.openbeta/liveries Within the Liveries folder, you have to create a folder with the name of the aircraft, on the harrier's case the folder should be named AV8BNA. Within the aircraft folder, each skin should be on a separate folder, like this: My Windows is in spanish, so the path may look weird to you, but it is this: /Users/Papito/Saved Games/DCS.openbeta/Liveries/AV8BNA/ (my user name is "papito" :) ) The small arrow over the Liveries Folder (on the folder tree at the left) means that I've relocated the Liveries Folder to another drive using a Windows hard junction, as I have over 15 GB of liveries and my drive C was getting full, but to the system it looks as if the Liveries folder is still on its original place. As the custom Liveries now reside within your user folder, it wont trigger integrity check for multiplayer use. Keep in mind that to work on multiplayer, every player hast to have the skin installed (including the one acting as server). Best regards. Tohnnie Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 Hi Rudel_chw, Could you please, give me some tips for skins instalaltions. I have ssen that you have installed Porcorosso86 Armada skin. Idownloaded it and try to use it, but following ususal folder installation \DCS World\CoreMods\aircraft\AV8BNA\Liveries\AV8BNA\ and despite solving countriess issue and skin name folder into .lua file I just can see default Harrier. What I'm doing wrong?

What I'm doing wrong? As Chaser said, you have the path wrong .. I placed my liveries on this path: Then I can see them on the Mission Editor (or on the rearming window), I edited the description.lua as I like to name the skins by country and also put the name of the artist that created it: Porcorosso's skin is beautiful, with a very subdued weathering .. I just wish he could support bort numbers, so as to not have my wingmans with the same serial as my own aircraft :) Best regards For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
Tohnnie Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 Thanks to Rudel_chw and Chaser I will follow your advices this weekend to enjoy that fabulous skins. Just to avoid future potential problems. Must I do the same with F-5E-3 and Su-33 skins (now properly working on DCS World\CoreMods\aircraft\... path)? Thanks in advance and nice weekend.
joey45 Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 All livery mods go in the saved games folder.. pretty much all mods go in the saved games folder. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Rudel_chw Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 (edited) Must I do the same with F-5E-3 and Su-33 skins (now properly working on DCS World\CoreMods\aircraft\... path)? Yes, it's the same .. here you can see the correct folder name for each aircraft, note that this can be done also for non-flyable aircrafts, vehicles, and even Mod aircrafts (like the Airbus A-320): The ones highlighted correspond to custom cockpits (which are actually like skins for the inside of the plane :) ) Disregard the one "Respaldo_UH1", as it's actually a backup I made of my UH1 liveries.
