Hello there,

 

I have a little question for you regarding Viggen's radar in 2.5:

 

Are the trees supposed to look like water (fully white) on the radar?

 

I know that you use a system that really scan the ground, is that due to the new trees and is a bug or is it the final thing? :book:

 

Right now I can't differenciate trees, rivers and sea.

+1 to this. I was mentioning it in another thread as well. It looked fantastic in 1.5, and I could do radar fixes quite well. In 2.5 however, I often can't tell the difference between ground mapping and terrain avoidance, and tend to use it just for naval targeting. Hope things are looking well on a fix. =D

this is causing many problems especially with the Radar Terrain Avoidance mode since the hills covered with trees simply do not appear and PLAF !!! you hit a hill

We have a fix in progress for this. :) We're currently tweaking the reflective parameters for the raycaster.
So, how is this going along?

As been stated before, the radar was looking nice and was quite useful in DCS 1.5, but now in 2.5 it's pretty useless as ground radar. Hope this is on your list for the out-of-beta goal.
