Hey folks. Can anyone tell me why I'm begging this error when trying to run the updater? It says The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. :music_whistling:

Reboot PC, or End all Processes Affiliated w/ DCS in the Task manager

DCS.exe, DCS_Updater.exe, xxxx_protect.exe etc

either DCS is already running or your antivirus is creating the problem.

usually restarting windows helps

That's the thing, nothing associated is running.

Make sure DCS is running with administration rights in windows also

if you have one please add your autoupdate_log.txt it should give us some clues

My tip is your AV scanner is blocking the update process.

Disable or better DEINSTALL it to verify.

Disabling often does not do the trick as the AV's filter drivers remain so deep in the low level section of your OS that they cannot be skipped...therefor deinstall it if disabling has no effect.

If that holds true....get another AV for the time being.

I use Kaspersky and Avira and they don't mess things up at the moment.

Bitdefender and AVG have caused issues before with DCS iirc.
