dresoccer4 Posted May 5, 2018 Posted May 5, 2018 hey guys quick question: is there a keyboard shortcut to select the TGP as the sensor on one of the screens? say my right screen is currently the moving map (sensor select left). DMT is sensor select down, etc, etc. Any shortcut to get the TGP view-able? thanks! Kaned Dragon Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 You can assign key bindings for all the button on the MFD. There's options for both Left and right MFD screens. I used (Shift + F9 to F12) for important buttons It's working but I'm really starting to think about getting those Thrustmaster mfd. The Tpod keep switching off. I think my hotas is failing and sending false signals.
Fri13 Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 All great, until you are using a VR. And then you really want to use a Touch Controllers so you can operate cockpit in full immersion without any thinking about keyboards or hunting mouse or touchpad and mouse cursor etc. That is when you notice you don't need anything else than basic HOTAS bindings and rest you do with hands like real pilots. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.

I don't have a VR headset yet, I don't have the funds. I am dreaming of the day I can afford one. But yes I agree with what your saying. Good luck feeling around for the keyboard you can see while flying. Bit like trying to use the mouse while flying. Multi task and flying aren't the best bed fellows. I wouldn't even need my monitor once I get a VR head set, but then I'd also want a hydraulic floor plate and then bolt a chair to that, so I could have movement and rumble. I can see that going to the £thousands :-/ But back to the task at hand :) In the mean time, as a stop gap, you can assign a key board key to the left and right MFD. also of topic but i think it's another command that needs to bve added to the default list. It's not bindable by default. You need to go into DCS World\Mods\aircraft\AV8BNA\Input\AV8BNA\keyboard\default.lua (or "joystick" if you want to bind it to joystick) And add the following: Code: {down = fcs_commands.Switch_ANTISKID, cockpit_device_id=devices.FLIGHTCONTROLS,value_down=0.0,name='Anti-Skid off',category='shortcuts'}, {down = fcs_commands.Switch_ANTISKID, cockpit_device_id=devices.FLIGHTCONTROLS,value_down=0.5,n Bless ya LazyBoots!
Kaned Dragon Posted May 6, 2018 Posted May 6, 2018 addendum, I saw somewhere, someones making some sort of hand tracking, so we can flip the buttons in the cockpit in VR. Not what I saw but it shows the idea. Early day, but it's a start.

earnil Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 +1 and if there are shortcuts for zooming the TGP and for the wide and narrow view. When in TPOD TDC mode, you can double click the Sensor Select Down, which activates HOTAS mode which enables you to control the TPOD with Sensor Select switches. Left changes Narrow / wide view, aft, if I remember correctly AREA / POINT tracking etc... You can check manual for the exact functions.

killerwhale Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 how can you remember all these shortcuts and none of them make sense, at least in the a10c, the shortcuts made sense and you knew what you needed to do, but this vehicle makes no sense. this is by far the most difficult and dissapointing
Goa Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 difficult?? The harrier is well known to be one of the easiest module to operate in DCS, I own the a10-c and never used it caus it is too difficult, the harrier is very simplified imho. Tello Posted May 10, 2018 Posted May 10, 2018 This is nonsens. The Harrier is far more effective and pilot friendly compared to the A-10C. Train as you fight and everything will end up in your muscle memory. :book: how can you remember all these shortcuts and none of them make sense, at least in the a10c, the shortcuts made sense and you knew what you needed to do, but this vehicle makes no sense. this is by far the most difficult and dissapointing [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

It's a bit of work, of course.

The basic functions like zoom seem to work though. Still there are some things where I'm not sure if it's a strange design choice or bug. For example in HTS mode, NWS doesn't reset the TPOD to default position but in TDC mode it does.
Goa Posted May 17, 2018 Posted May 17, 2018 Guys just go into control settings, choose righ or left MPCD and bind the buttons to your HOTAS, For istance i bind wide/narrow and zoom in+zoom out for the TPOD on my hotas. You can also bind a button so that when pressing it TPOD will be choosen and TDC activated. Regards.
