fitness88 Posted May 8, 2018 Posted May 8, 2018 Has anyone found a way of controlling the zoom incrementally to lock it at a specific zoom level? Also are snap views possible? Thank you.
David OC Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 No on the zoom, seems to be on or off only. I do know what yo mean tho as it does slowly zoom, can this coded to be controlled? Snap views are programmable with some modules? I know the A-10C works for me, I believe some don't? Cannot remember which ones. I have only tried this by binding keyboard commands outside of DCS joystick settings using CH manager. HOLD Num 0 + Num 7 etc. (Modified snap view for 7 and 9) I only have 2 set for the A-10, radio's and CDU etc. i7-7700K OC @ 5Ghz | ASUS IX Hero MB | ASUS GTX 1080 Ti STRIX | 32GB Corsair 3000Mhz | Corsair H100i V2 Radiator | Samsung 960 EVO M.2 NVMe 500G SSD | Samsung 850 EVO 500G SSD | Corsair HX850i Platinum 850W | Oculus Rift | ASUS PG278Q 27-inch, 2560 x 1440, G-SYNC, 144Hz, 1ms | VKB Gunfighter Pro Chuck's DCS Tutorial Library Download PDF Tutorial guides to help get up to speed with aircraft quickly and also great for taking a good look at the aircraft available for DCS before purchasing. David OC Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 (edited) Yes, I use it for VR with the rift, I bind the controls for it on my hotas outside of DCS using the CH manager software. This allows me to assign the keyboard commands to it and this does work. Never tried assigning the buttons for snap view to the hotas directly in DCS in VR, not sure if that works for DCS doing it that way? EDIT: I will also add, it works better than it does with Tir, as you can still move around from that new position, I always through Tir should work this way. If you have joystick editing software for your controls? Saitek SST, thrustmaster T.A.R.G.E.T, CH manager. You should be able to do this if your ok with setting up the controls outside DCS. Thanks...I'm wondering if it's possible to set up snap views of the cockpit for different zoom levels as I did with monitors before Rift?
SpeedStick Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 Oh nice. I tried that some time ago but it didnt work. Probably did it on a module that doesnt have it. "Hard to imagine bigger engine. its got a beautiful face and an arse built like sputnik." - Pikey AKA The Poet, on 37 Viggen.
SkateZilla Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 Snap views are easily configured when not using VR, are you saying it can be done using VR? Yes, always been able to set and use snapviews even in VR. Torso Posted May 9, 2018 Posted May 9, 2018 This guy looks like he can zoom in and out No, he is just holding his hmd with a camera pressed to the lens to record. I can place my HMD on the nose of my plane if I want. That is not the same as using the zoom function. Though for us VR users it is effectively the same as we get such a weak zoom level...sadly.
fitness88 Posted May 9, 2018 Author Posted May 9, 2018 So a snap view with a pre-determined zoom can end up doing the same thing as if we had incremental zoom capability...is this right? I will give it a try.
