CHPL Posted May 11, 2018 Posted May 11, 2018 There are some airport lights but still no moonlight . It's darker then on the backside of the moon . :( Always happy landings ;)
Pikey Posted May 11, 2018 Posted May 11, 2018 I went for May 15 2018 and watched a complete day night cycle which should have a full moon and couldnt see it. I am assuming the lunar patterns are modelled like the stars which appear to be, but I never saw a moon, and they are kindda hard to miss. If someone finds the moon, can they give me a call, I'm worried we lost her! ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *
Pikey Posted May 11, 2018 Posted May 11, 2018 Turns out it hides quite a lot, but I found it. August 26th 2018 in the south skiy at half passed midnight. It does illuminate quite a lot actually. ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *
Insonia Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Moon rising seems not following the real life moon phases model. I tired to use mooncalc.org to calc the full moon date. Did not work well in DCS.
schurem Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Left ctrl-Z is your friend in 'finding the moon' Still, it is tiny (too tiny imo) but does make for very pretty light. I5 9600KF, 32GB, 3080ti, G2, PointCTRL

After another full moon night flight the moon and indeed even the sun if you look at it are both scaled too small in the sky. These both need to be scaled up in size.
