I was about to post that the Argo campaign was broken and now every mission began with an air start. So I tried to test in Mission Editor starting from ramp on the frigate with a Huey... sadly you now spawn inside the ship (the middle of it, not even under the landing deck) and promptly explode. The 'take off from ramp' is selected, but speed goes to 81 knots and altitude to 0. Start game - explode.

 

Moved on to the AV8B... not only am I not able to ramp start - nothing happens. The plane won't even load. I'm still set as the 'player', it's the same practice mission I've always used for the AV8B and I've changed nothing since it last worked but when the game loads I'm just taken to the F10 map.

 

Something has gone badly wrong with ramp starts on ships since the Open Beta patch today... has anyone else had problems??

I did notice in the previous update that I couldn't use the Harrier on destroyers and smaller ships for some reason, despite having enough room. They would indeed explode as soon as I did a ramp start. Not sure if it's a related issue to the same issue you're having, but it sounds like it.

 

Perhaps, but I was using the AV8B on the Tarawa, which was working fine just this weekend. As I said, I use the same practice mission each time, haven't changed anything... it's really weird. And coincidental that now helo's won't start on the ships either.
