hansangb Posted October 26, 2018 Posted October 26, 2018 Your absolutely right, it is nothing to do with poor systems. I have a new £3500 system with an i9 and a GTX1080Ti and for months now I have tried Beta, non-Beta and on both there are times when it is smooth as silk and then there is an update and we are back to square one. I have kept in touch with the various debates on the forums and at one point it seemed to have something to do with Wi Fi, but any success gained there was not permanent. I've tried various other things that I wont bore you with. A couple of times I have uninstalled the lot and reinstalled and everything is smooth as silk again, but he situation is only temporary, usually another update and aaaaaagh!. God help us. Neil Could be Intel RST issue. Could be USB conflict issue. Could be hyperthreading issue, could be HD vs SSD issue, could be microphone causing delays issue. Could be thermal throttling on GPU/CPU issue. All searchable via google. These are all the things that (off the top of my head) that people said fixed their stutters. And of course code refinement is also a factor. Normandy when it came out was unplayable in VR. After a few updates, it got better. After a few months, it was very playable. hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1

The_Nephilim Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 (edited) Hi guys, sorry about the late response, but i had attached some screenshots from my gameplay, XTU and configs. I got the temps under control undervolting my CPU, anyone could help me? Hi, What kind of Heatsink Fan do you have on that CPU?? IF it is a Stock Fan that is part of the problem if not please specify which one you use.. Also if it is a decent aftermarket kind are the fans spinning and is the heatsink gunked up with dust and dirt or animal hairs if you have pets..?? BusPilot Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 Hi! The system is a Alienware 17 R4, the fan and heatsink was replaced about 5 months ago by Dell. Yesterday I did a repaste with thermal grizzly kryonaut, almost didn't notice any difference, besides the heat, I think my fps performance isn't as good as it should be for the specs. Any thoughts?
The_Nephilim Posted October 31, 2018 Posted October 31, 2018 Well OK what kind of fan and heatsink is it the Stock one?? IF it is the Stock one that is your problem.. BitMaster Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 IIRC that spec means it's a 17" 4th gen Alienware "Laptop". BusPilot Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 Yes, cant change the heatsink neither the fans. Anyway I had just give up about the heat, the laptop is under warranty, so if it burns isn't a big deal. The problems right now is the FPS on 30... 32... even with low settings.
