Hi,

I have an issue with Instant Mission (Missile combat) and Single Mission (Intercept Phantoms) with communicating with wingman and other flight elements. They are not responding to anything and it is especially frustrating in mentioned single mission to see other M-2000C closeing up to F-4 and F-5 without firing a single missile before entering a furball while I'm already depleted and left on guns only dofight. I'm trying to order to engage bandits but it only gets to Korea war style dogfight. There is no ACK feedback on my order. Am I missing some setup for the radio or...?

Perhaps You set wrong radio. Check VUHF and UHF channel and right frequency.

No problems with comm with wingman.

I was not fiddling with radio. I just enter the mission and try to communicate. I know it works in general but I'm asking in this two scenarios if I need to do something in order to achieve radio contact with my flight elements. Everything looks like it's correctly set from start but I cannot guarantee for that because I'm still not an expert in this module.

Did you activate “easy radio” option or not ?

If “easy radio” isn’t selected, you have to set the proper radio channel or frequency.

You have 2 differents radios each with its own radio menu.

Please check the manual for full description.

Hi, easy radio was not activated. For the Instant action Missile combat mission the initial values for the LCD display is: 129.00 (upper), 251.00 (lower value). So the upper value is U/VHF and the lower is VHF. Both knobs are in the radio menu on preset mode and LCD values are preset 1 for each radio. Only when i turn the U/VHF knob to manual and turn the wheels to 251.00 I can communicate with the wingman. Why I can't communicate with him via VHF on the beginning when its already on preset 1 with 251.00 value?

make sure that those missions still have the correct frequency set to each channel in the mission editor. Should be but worth a check.

Your 2 radios are one V/UHF and one UHF (251.00 is UHF, not VHF).

Each radio is activated by its own coms button.

You must map the 2 buttons to your HOTAS to be able to use both radios, and use the proper one to make calls. :smilewink:

This is covered by both the manual and training missions.

I'm sure your wingmen are on 251 MHz as that is the editor default. So you'd have to use the UHF "red" radio not the V/UHF "green" radio. When you press either transmit key you can see which radio is in use by checking the text that appears above the first "F1" option.

Thanks, I've been constantly using standard DCS comm button. Now that I've separated them, works like a charm ;)

Also, +1 thanks for the input/effort to help me understand.
