MRaza Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 The new explosion effects that 2.5 has brought us look absolutely fantastic. Explosion effects for rockets look as I think they would in real life. But does anyone think that the explosion effects for missiles and bombs should have maybe a bit more fire and less dust on impact? (Especially when a missile impacts an aircraft, imo there should be a bit of a fireball on impact and less smoke) Not complaining just suggesting :)
ouPhrontis Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 ...and that is a large JDAM. The fiery part of the detonation is very brief, so I think it's just about right; of course it'll depend on the munition type dropped. What about missiles hitting aircraft though? I've always seen tons of fire and not very much smoke Reference 3:40 for this video And 3:13 and 3:33, for this video
Texac Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 The explosion effects are still WIP and there are probably much more going to be added. The explosions need to be adjusted for every warhead type. I was asking in another thread if an aircraft filled up with a lot of fuel, would it contain a much bigger explosion once hit, or what about the static fuel tank silos? And on what other factors does the type or volume of the explosion depend on. Warhead, damaged or hit part, speed & angle of the bomb, what about cannon shells hitting certain parts on the aircraft? - My Skins/Liveries - Improved F-16C Texture Template • Texac on YouTube •

Yeah it's still WIP since rn the aircraft explosions look like copies of rocket or bomb explosions, so it must just be placeholder
