Why would you want to use trim, when you have a FCS dealing with that for you?

I only use trim when I'm about to land, to trim it for On-speed AoA. Otherwise I almost never trim the F/A-18C.

Takeoff trim is for land use only. For cat shots, you will trim up from t/o (12) to 16,17, or 19 depending on a/c weight.

RIOT, just wondering but why did you reply to this 4 month old post out of nowhere?

Then why at launch on the carriers is it so nose up after launch ?seems screwey to me I have to literally push the stick all the way forward and chop the throttle and it still acts like it don't want to get level?

That is not normal. You need to reset FCS, and make sure you are in half Flap before launching.
