Azazel Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 (edited) I noticed that when taking off from the carrier the engines do not go up to full burner before the cat fires. Only after the plane is off the deck does this happen currently. Probably a known issue but I figured I mention it. I noticed it in Ralfi's video first and then confirmed it in the sim just now. HawkeyeHHDF Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 It is modeled that way, with the hook down and launch bar extended you need to use the fingertip lifts to get the throttles in burner, its an on deck safety thing to keep from inadvertently going into burner on the deck, you can map these on your stick Hawkeye VF-213 CO VCVW-11 http://www.vcvw-11.com Heatblur F-14 SME

jojo Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 (edited) What’s wrong with afterburner on the deck ? For heavy payload it’s totally legitimate. It's the same for Tomcat or Super Hornet. Having 2 ways to engage afterburner will screw people I think. Is it just DCS module or the real one too ? (I would rather think that Hornet always need thinger tip lift to engage AB) Edited June 1, 2018 by jojo Mirage fanatic ! Eldur Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 In my last sortie I noticed that even the last mentioned retractable inflight IDLE stop is modelled. I idled shorty before touching down on the runway and didn't even notice that, but when walking the throttle to taxi off I noticed the PRM dropped. Certainly because of just that. Awesome.
jojo Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 Thanks for the extract. So you can still force through the detent without the lift. We are usually short of of available buttons on desktop HOTAS, so having to map 2 buttons to go AB is a nuisance, even if I understand the “realism” purpose, not everybody has a real Hornet throttle at home :music_whistling: Mirage fanatic !
