If I want to retake off using the wheel chock thing, do I need to press some commands\request ATC and move to\be in the wheel chock area to get that starting boost?

You can taxi up to the catapult, lower the launch bar and hit U to trigger the catapult being set for you. You have to get pretty close to the spot. Once you're in the right spot and hit U you'll see your plane get set up.

If you overshoot a little, when you hit the U key, you'll get dragged back a short way.

If you overshoot too much, engage your NWS-Hi and taxi again.

You can go backwards, you just need the deck crew to physically move you back. Of course, we dont have that luxury in DCS. If the AirBoss calls out for a "Push Back - CAT #" the yellow shirt that made the error will get picked on by his fellow yellow shirts,,, I had 1 in 4 years,, not bad!
