Well having searched for darn near 30 minutes, how do you bring your pilot back from the dead? I forgot.

There used to be a way to edit the pilot log....which I cant find because I took a 2.5 yr simming break and what a mistake that was.

I think the log your looking for is in C:\Users\<you>\Saved Games\DCS.release\MissionEditor\logbook.lua

I have mine set to invulnerable so it doesn't show a "dead" value..

Now that you have triggered my memory I just dragged my pilot I have had since DCS started over from a back up install. Now that's better. Thank for the memory jog.

I had restored mine that way, but in couple of days it dead again. How this feature works exactly (what kills your pilot in a log) and how to turn it off for good?

PS To get things more complicated, I had Russian installation of DCS, then English (because ED do not care to implement proper multilanguage support), so now my pilot have some Cyrillic writings in the log file. Could it be the reason the game is killing me?
