But my question is will it run better or must i also buy a new videocard? I know there plenty of new ones on the market but my gtx runs fine i believe 1TG hard drive ASrock h97 pro4 Intel® Core i5-4460 CPU 3.20Ghz 16GB RAM MSI Geforce GTX 970 1TB Samsung evo 860 ssd MSI Z490 Intel® Core I9-10900F 32GB RAM MSI Geforce GTX 970
BitMaster Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 The 32GB wont help you much and I honestly would not invest in anothrt set of 16GB now as the OpenBeta has the mem issue fixed and 16GB is PLENTY again. NO NEED 4 32GB :) I myself have taken 16GB out of my 32 ( for Bios reasons ) and have settled with 16GB, all fine as long as you stay with the OB or later. The problem I think is your CPU, it's getting long in the tooth. Save the bucks and think about a platform upgrade this year. CPU Board GPU RAM and a new PSU. Wait till 1180 GPU comes out, soon... outlawal2 Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 maybe not so soon... http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/nvidia-ceo-makes-interesting-remarknew-gamers-geforce-is-a-long-time-from-now.html That is an interesting link, but I think I am reading what he said differently than everyone else.. I read that as he stated that VOLTA cards are still way off, and that seems reasonable.. Everyone else thinks this means Nvidia will sit back and do nothing for an extended period of time and I don't believe that. Just because VOLTA is not ready for mainstream doesn't mean Nvidia won't release a more potent series of video cards in the interem.. Possibly for less money? I think 1180 won't be too far off, but what that really means performance and architecture-wise is anyone's guess at this point.. "Pride is a poor substitute for intelligence." RAMBO

I bet the performance difference is huge and that he can sell a few more 1080s to people who can't wait, and then lay the next card down heavy. The 1180 is inevitable, but it's probably a business decision to squeeze the current process a little more. Didn't Nvidia recently say that Moore's law doesn't apply to GPUs and that performance is increasing at far higher rates than predicted? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Mustang Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 1TG hard drive That would be a big problem right there, I would purchase an SSD over extra RAM first.
