Eldur Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 Torrent's freaking out shortly before touching down. Bolter! Everytry it deletes the downloaded files afterwards so it has to redownload them again completely. Looks like a bug for me. It shall delete them files when done. Not when not being able to download everything. See update log attached. autoupdate_log (2).zip
Eldur Posted June 6, 2018 Author Posted June 6, 2018 OK, after some more tries, and a 5th wire trap attempt by the updater, I finally encounter the "deltas" - looks like ED is working hard in the background to get them up after providing the "complete" files initially. autoupdate_log (5).zip
Eldur Posted June 6, 2018 Author Posted June 6, 2018 I'm totally certain this is not working as intended...autoupdate_log (6).zip
ED Team c0ff Posted June 6, 2018 ED Team Posted June 6, 2018 What is a "wire trap attempt"? Dmitry S. Baikov @ Eagle Dynamics LockOn FC2 Soundtrack Remastered out NOW everywhere - https://band.link/LockOnFC2.
ApoNOOB Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 I think he is referring to the Hornet (Patch) trying to catch the wire on the carrier (his PC). :) I think I have the same issue. My _download folder has now grown to 19gb but he still wants to download new 10gb.
Eldur Posted June 6, 2018 Author Posted June 6, 2018 I made that up, trying to trap on the 5th wire where there are just 4 because of that "18168.8 of 10559.8 MB" thing I encountered. Apparently I was just running out of disk space at different points in the uodate process. I had almost 30GB free on my SSD which was not enough. I tried to come by to it by putting a junction "_downloads" into my DCS folder that points to a 24GB ramdisk, which was not enough for the downloads to expand as well. This worked exceptianally well when the Gulf map as well as the Hornet modules appeared though. Now I just temporarily moved some totally unimportant games from my SSD to an external HDD until I had a free space of 100GB, now everything worked, patch has been installed successfully. I just looked at my disk size several time, but I haven't seen it under 80GB while the thing was working, probably have missed the spot where it needed way more than 20GB (actually more than the 30GB I first had to offer). If it by chance would be possible to calculate the free space needed for the process (sum of downloads + extracted files perhaps?) and show that in the updater, I'd appreciate to see this.
