I don't think I'd get launched with my wings folded no matter how much I tried in real life. The shooter would refuse to do it! I think it's our own responsability to check our configuration. You cannot expect AI to be implemented to police us in everything we do or don't do. It happened with an F-8, an F-4, an A-7E... and more besides.
