Probe Keybind missing? No key bind allowed??

Just tried to bind a keyboard key to the "Probe Control Switch - EXTEND/RETRACT" toggle, but apparently a keybind is not allowed for this command??? It won't open the key bind window.

 

Same for the "Probe Control Switch - EMERG EXTD/RETRACT" command.

 

Possibly this has something to do with the 'Special for Joystick' category? What is that?? I don't see anything about it in the Early Access Guide..:joystick:

Nope. On the Left Console the keyboard bind is also disabled. Also disabled on the Fuel Control Panel..

Sure enough it’s not editable - but I did map it to an open switch on my Warthog Throttle.

If you add the entry to the keyboard.lua file, it sorta works but not 100%, the probe will extend but not retract, iow, it isn't a toggle.

"Special for joystick" category is there special for TM Warthog joystick. This commands are not designed to work with keyboard.

 

If you wish to switch Probe control switch with keyboard, there are two groups of commands:

1) 3 for separate positions (EMERG EXTD / RETRACT / EXTEND)

2) 2 for cycle switch up and down - (Up / Down)

Yes, thanks cofcorpse, that explains it.

 

It is strange with all these commands, that so many don't have a simple toggle on/off keybind.. Like H for the Hook, for users without fancy HOTAS. I don't see the logic..

That's a negative Ghost Rider: The pattern is full.

 

You can't add a key binding to Extend/Retract and Emerg Extend/Retract they are greyed out in your screenshot. You can add a key for the individual ones but not for the 'toggle' ones, which is what the OP was talking about.
