Call the ball using VR, in window visualization.

I love the F18C and have been spending my time practicing landings on the boat. I only use VR which is mind blowing. But and its a obvious but, I can't see the ball until about 3 seconds from the wire. This is leading to the bad habit of spotting the deck!

With that siad, I would like to see an in-picture representation of the ball which could be toggled ON and OFF, like the control position indicator or the AI status window used with the UH-1.

Thanks for looking.

There's a number of threads about this already. As I continue to get better at trapping, I've learned that when you correctly hit your numbers, you are in the groove, and in the glide scope, you can see the ball well enough to follow it in. If you don't see the ball at all until you're about to touch down then you was never in the correct glide scope. I'm still working at it. It takes practice, practice, practice.

I agree with Pimp, the better you get at it, the sooner you can see the ball and I'm used to just making it out now as I roll out on the glide slope at 3/4 mile. That said, a lot of my VR wingmen have also stated that they'd love to be able to pop up something like the current kneeboard implementation with the FLOLS.
