During the course of a multiplayer mission, the carrier TACAN will frequently go out of service. It may possibly be related to people hitting the back of the ship with failed landing attempts, but I can't confirm this. Ships in the mission are set to immortal.

Yup. The workaround that we have been using is to set new waypoints along your carrier's path with triggers to reactivate the TACAN along the way. I have a WP setup at every hour for 6 hours, until the mission restart trigger kicks in for our 24/7 server.

Thanks, that's a good idea. It does seem to turn back on at random already, but forcing it back every hour may mean it's online more than it is now.

I keep seeing this happen too, can’t figure why. The TACAN will be working when I start up and when I’m approaching on RTB, then goes missing at some point.

On Blue Flag the TACAN never seems to work at all. Is that a DCS bug or a server problem? I can’t imagine why a server wouldn’t have the TACAN on.

I would love to see this ancient bug fixed.... TACAN and ILS on the carriers in the FA-18C only seems to work 50% of the time at best, this really ruins the carrier landing experience.

This bug seems to affect Blue Flag but not other servers. Is it just something wrong with their missions?

They have the TACAN set to ch 4 on the Roosevelt which doesn’t seem right.

They need to set up a flag timer and have the AI TASK push on. Which turns on the ILS, TACAN, ETC. Every 10 minutes have a new flag reset so the carrier turn on their stuff again. It's how we fixed our carriers
