Griefhard Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 Hi! I don't know if I am at the right place here. But I need help with the editor. I want to practice dogfights (BFM/ACM) and therefore I would like to create a mission, where new and stronger versions of an Aggressor show up, once the predecessor has been shot down. The spawning of the aircrafts is no problem for me. Also setting the AI level and stuff. My problem is, that I would want to replenish player ammo once I shot down one fighter and the next fighter spawns. In a second scenario I'd like to fly with a buddy 2v2 (AI) and use besides guns also AIM-9 Missiles. I also would like the missiles to be replenished. I can see to ways: Better solution: The player has to return to a trigger zone. At the trigger a new Aggressor spawns on the map and the player gets his loadout refilled. Less good solution: The player gets unlimited ammo. Can anyone help? I don't want to set unlimited ammo in the options, I would want to set it either by aircraft group, or even better, would want to replenish ammo via trigger. Would be awesome, if someone could explain to me, how I can achieve this. Thanks! MODERATORS: SORRY FOR THE DOUBLE POST. I GUESS HERE IT IS IN THE RIGHT PLACE.
feefifofum Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 No way that I know of built in or using external scripting to alter the player's loadout in real time. Best way I can think of would be to include multiple aircraft slots to swap between for different engagements and a trigger that looks for UNIT ALIVE to spawn your adversaries. Griefhard Posted June 25, 2018 Author Posted June 25, 2018 I have seen it done in the F5E tutorial Mission for bombing practice. The bomb get‘s instantly replenished after being dropped. Also I would eventually need to replenish fuel. Is there maybe a way to reset the whole aircraft?
Captain Orso Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 The only way to replenish ammo while in-flight is to set 'Unlimited Weapons' in 'Mission Options'. There are several problems with this. - After firing a missile or dropping a bomb, after about 5 seconds, a new one will spawn onto your aircraft, which means the weight of your aircraft suddenly changes without warning. - You will always be flying fully loaded and never experience the changing weight of the aircraft. - You will always have a full load of weapons--your original load-out--and never have to learn to fight with what you have, because replacements will always be forthcoming. - Your enemy will also have 'Unlimited Weapons'. -- You might try the this. Setup the aircraft you want to train with as you wish, set as client, not player. Then in the 'Airplane Group' set 'Unit' 'Of' to 4. Now when you fly the mission you have to choose a slot; pick the first aircraft in you group. when you destroy your enemy aircraft, as soon as you've destroyed it, hit <Esc> and Choose Slot and pick the next aircraft in your group. You will start from the configured starting location with a completely fresh aircraft with all the original load-out. I believe after a very short wait, the first group-slot will again become available, so you should never run out of replacement aircraft. Optionally, you can create several different groups with different load-outs. Give the Groups names which identify the load-out to yourself, and now you can choose which load-out you wish to use against which enemy aircraft. joey45 Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 Unlimited Ammo and Fuel tick box.. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. cazub Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 unlimited ammo is for dropables only. Not gun ammo. It works for bombs, rockets, missiles, it MIGHT work on some planes for gunpods, haven't tried.
