Mr_sukebe Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Do we currently have a "most recommended" Nvidia driver, i.e. the one that we believe is the most reliable? 7800x3d, 5080, 64GB, PCIE5 SSD - Oculus Pro - Moza (AB9), Virpil (Alpha, CM3, CM1 and CM2), WW (TOP and CP), TM (MFDs, Pendular Rudder), Tek Creations (F18 panel), Total Controls (Apache MFD), Jetseat
Mud Posted June 26, 2018 Posted June 26, 2018 Hard to say. I'm using 397.93 without any complaints. Alas, I have yet to see a changelog by Nvidia having a single line dedicated to DCS World. Alas, I have yet to see a changelog by Nvidia having a single line dedicated to DCS World. Doubt you will ever see a Nvidia driver with update notes containing DCS World. Not a big enough game or prime time game to include anything for it. I don't think any flight simulators have ever had Nvidia specific patches and AMD has not had any either.
DflippinK Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 a few have stated 388.71 as providing best performance.. im on 390.77 with no complaints. Ryzen R7 1800x|EVGA FTW3 1080Ti|32gb Corsair Dominator Platinum@2666mhz|Samsung 750 EVO|LG 4k 50" Main Display|ASUS PB278Q Reference Display|
Mr_sukebe Posted June 27, 2018 Author Posted June 27, 2018 I’m using 388.71, but am experiencing crashes in game on an intermittent basis. Not sure if a different set of drivers might help. 7800x3d, 5080, 64GB, PCIE5 SSD - Oculus Pro - Moza (AB9), Virpil (Alpha, CM3, CM1 and CM2), WW (TOP and CP), TM (MFDs, Pendular Rudder), Tek Creations (F18 panel), Total Controls (Apache MFD), Jetseat
BitMaster Posted June 27, 2018 Posted June 27, 2018 I always use the latest one, sometimes they fail, then I either wait for a beta or go 1 step back with DDU. Also, not all drivers behave the same across all machines, what works great for A might fail for B. I must admit, Nvidia often shoots it's own knee ( or mine ) with drivers. They do differ quite a lot sometimes with performance, so have an open eye on your FPS counter and a BSOD with "IRQ not less or equal" is usually a BAD nv-driver if you dont have BSODs usually.
