FlankerMan Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 I was intending on getting some kind of TrackIR soon, and was wondering what you would recommend. I do have two parameters for suggestions, though: 1-It needs to be Windows 10 compatible. 2-It needs to be in the $30-50 range. Also, how simple are these to operate? And, do they plug in, or just clip on, or what?
SharpeXB Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 TrackIR is comparable with Windows 10 But it does cost about $150 It is very easy to use, about the most intuitive controllers there is. https://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/trackir5/ i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5

I use this one: https://delanengineering.com/shop/DelanClip-Gamer-p43397050 ... that meets both criteria. Also, how simple are these to operate? And, do they plug in, or just clip on, or what? I've mine fastened to my headphones using a couple of plastic cable ties: The software needs quite a bit of tuning in order to work smoothly, but here you can see how smooth it can get: 1SYKCe8w-Z0 Best regards For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

I havent really used TrackIR, but I do understand that it too requires at least some degree of tuning. I have adjusted my curves but it was quite functional even without adjustments. For most games I use it just with the preset “smooth” setting and have never needed to adjust it. DCS however I did find the need to. For example your movement in DCS is faster, I prefer to slow it down and there is a need to look behind throttles etc for click switches. i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
