How to define "Start on Ground"

Hi

 

 

How can I place a start location for my F18 on a free "start on ground" location in ME, like I can do for the Helicopter?

 

 

In Batumi I placed two Hot Start hangars at the top end of the runway, but I can only move helo there.

You probably don't have any responses because it's not possible in any modern US or European jet aircraft. Some Russian birds and the Harrier can take off from roads and "unimproved runways", but never from the dirt.

 

 

None of this is modeled in DCS outside of helos

Not from grass. of course paved ground, but not alocated with a start point in Batumi.

There's a mod for this but the answer to the question is no, only helicopters can start from ground.

The C-17 can takeoff from dirt strips thank you … ill-advised, but dirt capable. So can the Herc, but it is a turbo-prop … :D

On the contrary this mod does indeed still work. It was never functional for FC3 aircraft but it does still work for most modules. Client aircraft can be spawned anywhere as cold starts but AI aircraft will always hot start and try to take off immediately.

 

The mods best use is for non FC3 aircraft client slots. :thumbup:

When I used ogme to enable it DCS crashed as soon as ME tried to open

I'm pretty sure the Harrier has this option too, so it is not just limited to helicopters but can be defined by the devs of each module if the module schould have this functionality.
