ebabil Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Hi guys, 1- How can i know if my nws is disabled before touchdown? I don't see any indicator on hud during flight. I had some problems after i landed nws is on. I want to make sure it is off 2- Hud used to show tacan station name before. Now i only see distance. What am i doing wrong? 104th_Maverick Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Press the Paddle Switch before you land, this will disengage NWS. If you take off from an airbase you should have NWS off as you roll down the runway, it should then remain off for the flight however to be on the safe side, hit hte paddle switch as you go over the threshold to make sure it is off. The TACAN station name is currently bugged and fix is WIP. Flamin_Squirrel Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 NWS is supposed to activate on touchdown. If you're having difficulty you it's probably down to your controls/setup, as it should be pretty stable.
Goa Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 this is what I do: as soon as land I press the paddle switch to deactive NWS as I migh need to make some rudder correction to remain stable, with NWS on at 130 knots it is a disaster CPU : Intel i7 8700k@5.0ghz cooled by Noctua NH-D15 / Motherboard:Asorck Z370 Taichi / RAM: 32GB GSkill TridentZ @3600mhz / SSD: 500GB Nvme Samsung 970 evo+1 TB Sabrent Nvme M2 / GPU:Asus Strix OC 2080TI / Monitor: LG 34KG950F Ultrawide / Trackir 5 proclip/ VIRPIL CM2 BASE + CM2 GRIP + F148 GRIP + 200M EXTENSION /VKB T-Rudder MKIV rudder /Case: Fractal Design R6 Define black
erautour Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 This NWS works fine at my pc. No need to disengage it. And this NWS is supposed to activate on touchdown. If you're having difficulty you it's probably down to your controls/setup, as it should be pretty stable. It’s supposed to remain on lo throughout the takeoff roll per the Natops manual
Talonx1 Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Turn up tacan volume (left hand side, towards the rear) and tacan data will display properly. Once its up you can turn it back down again if you wish.
Spetz Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 TACAN is all kinds of messed up right now. Usually for me, the first instance of using works (minus TACAN station = known bug) but after that nothing works for TACAN and I get a spinning HSI looking for the programmed TACAN station. Carrier, airfield or AtA refueling, doesn't matter. I'm using Beta if it matters..
