Hi,

I bought a new high spec machine that includes 256 solid state drive [C:] and a one terabyte Hard drive.[D:]

I logged to the DCS site, and downloaded the latest 2.5 no problem, but when it launched and tried to update my modules it said not enough room on C: drive. So, I dragged the installation over to the D: hard drive and the module update appeared to download and the game auto launched. Problem is that at the GUI opening screen it shows the 17 modules available again [in red on my module manager] and clicking that just starts the whole process over and over without actual installing.

I am not very techy and never hard a solid state drive but that aside any obvious mistakes I have made in the install? Anyadvice appreciated.

Delete all DCS folders from both C: and D: as well as dcs folder under c/saved_games

and try to reinstall everythig from scratch selecting D as main hardrive for DCS

It would be better if you get a 1tb ssd that way you could have both the OS and DCS on it, it would also be a lot faster. Try asking the seller of your system if you could exchange the ssd for a larger one and pay the difference for the upgrade, it they are a good company they may make some kind of arrangement with you just to keep your business. Don't do the HDD install, it's only causing headaches and stutter.

You can also add another 500GB SSD to your machine if your seller is stubborn, in fact, I'd choose the 2nd SSD option over 1 drive that holds it all, maybe an old habit.

I've got peculliar config on my aging PC, with system on HDD and DCS on SSD. Under no circumstances I would recommend installing DCS on HDD, even to my worst enemy :D. Don't. Just don't.

System, if not clogged up with too much junk, can still work conveniently fast on HDD. DCS cannot :D. Whatever you do, put DCS on SSD to save your sanity.

Thanks everyone for your advice. The install on D drive went well and game updated and playing wonderfully. Larger SSd was not an option as already delivered and used and immediate upgrade not possible to funds, but once they become available then I will upgrade larger ssd. Thanks again.
