Hi guys,

Has anyone encountered a problem where not all of the MFD buttons are working in DCS? All of the buttons work just fine in Windows joystick interface, but some of the buttons do not work in DCS. By not working I mean that DCS does not register a button press at all (ie can't even assign them to anything).

Thanks!

If you are referring to cougar MFD's you can not assign by pressing a key button must do as photo's show.

Nope, manually assigning button from a drop down did not help. I've played a bit and realized that my MFD2 Button 10 (on the right side, bottom) acts as right mouse button and if I however mouse cursor over any button, pressing the button will activate whatever right click on that particular button does. Likewise, MFD Button 11 (on the bottom row, on the right) acts as left mouse click. MFD Button 15 (on the bottom row, on the left) does not appear to have any action at all. Any clues?

First make a backup copy of CONFIGS subdir of "C:\users\USER_NAME_HERE\Saved Games"

Then go into the game setup and clear the entire column under the MFDs.

Then reassign OSB10, for example. You should be able to just click on it to assign it. Also, make sure you're not confusing the left and the right MFDs.

Finally, if you're doing this in FA18, the BTN1 and PB1 are *not* the same. TM MFD OSB16 --> Hornet PB1, TM MFD OSB17 --> Hornet PB2,

I figured out the problem - I must have assigned MFD2 buttons to act as mouse buttons some time ago and forgot about it. This is why, when trying to reassign buttons, pressing on them showed on action on the button assignment screen. I'm not sure why manually forcing the button assignment would neither overwrite, nor show a DCS message showing that button was already assigned to something else...

@Foxfire

Yes, you can assign them by just pressing a button. They are standard USB game controllers and function exactly like every other game controller. Nothing fancy

On aircraft that have MFDs though (A-10, AV-8, F-18) these keys all auto assign, and don't seem to be reassignable through normal means, though I've never tried to on my Harrier or A-10, so I could be wrong. Edit - this may be an incorrect statement

A10C is the only one that does *not* require any assignment. It works out of the box. But for other planes, you have to manually assign it.

Really? I was positive I saw assignations in the Harrier. But that was near eight months ago... I really wish my stuff would get here already. Guess I could hook em up and see, anyway. But I'll take your word for it, I assumed they worked the same across all of them, sorry
