When ever i do a cold start on the fa18 i have to lift the throttles over the detent twice. They aren't recognised the first time. Any idea why?

Been like that forever, I think the detents are not an (On)/(Off) but are a (Momentary-On) always (Off) button or something like that... I just set the throttles to idle before I start the mission and then move them to off when the mission starts.

Not a problem here

Idle detent works fine for me, lift once and engine lites Left and Right. Your, proper key for idle is, Throttle Quadrant Off/Idle, Right throttle is Rshift+Home and left is RAlt+Home . To set them push throttles pass detent and then select correct keybind and slide it back to the off position.

It works fine for start up and shutdown.

Because the button state is not syncronized to the cockpit state unless you tick the 'sync' box in options.

Dunno if this works in the F-18 yet though.

Alternatively, next time you enter the F-18 cockpit, leave the throttles in the midrange, unpause sim, move throttles to OFF and now ingame throttles should work the first time.

It‘s the same as in the A-10C. Just like DDSSTT, I alwas start my missions with throttles at idle, unpause, move them to cutoff and then I begin the cold start procedure with BAT ON.
