imacken Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Can someone please tell me how to get a success in this mission? I mean, myself and my flight hit the ships that are landing on the beach over and over with RB75s, and yet, no message ever comes to say 'Success'! Jediteo Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 There isn't a "win state" as such. Just launch you missiles and do the most damage you can and return to base. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
imacken Posted August 12, 2018 Author Posted August 12, 2018 There isn't a "win state" as such. Just launch you missiles and do the most damage you can and return to base. Are you saying that with some authority? If so, I'm surprised about that. A mission must have a success measurement, and I can't remember others not having one in other modules. Additionally, in the debriefing, there are listed 2 helicopters, 27 ground units and 1 ship as targets. Don't know which ship that is, but I can dump 4 Mavericks on a ship and it still doesn't sink! I can soot down the 2 helicopters, and hit 4 ships, come back, and nothing. I have only seen the ship furthest to the right (as approached from mission start direction) sink. All the others can take multiple Maverick hits and show no damage. Holton181 Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 A lot of missions for the modules I own don't have a 'Success!' indication. If you didn't already know, most often missions do have a "Success rate" going up to 100, visible in the debriefing screen or the screen you get when pressing the ' key (don't remember it's official name). What makes the "Success rate" to count is up to the mission designer. In campaigns you often need to reach above a given threshold to advance to the next mission. In single missions you just do your best to meet the objectives and leave when you think you managed to. imacken Posted August 12, 2018 Author Posted August 12, 2018 Sorry, but I still think there is something odd about this mission. It tells you to target the landing ships, yet the only target ship (shown by looking at labels) is the only one moving away from the beach, and is not part of the landing group. There are 2 helicopter targets listed, but not mentioned in the objectives. I can hit the ships - mentioned in the briefing but not designated as a target - with 4 Mavericks, and they show no sign of sinking. Are you using the Rb75T version? ... it has a larger warhead and thus more suitable against ships. I’m using whatever is loaded in that mission. The moving ‘target’ ship is sunk with 2 hits, but the landing craft survive hits from 4! I have to back you up on this. The RB75 that are loaded by default in that mission seem to do close to zero damage to the ships. I tend to go back to the base after the initial attack, reload RB75T. They are nearly 1 shoot 1 kill.

Then see how many hits all the sea vehicles can take! Really entertaining!
