I'd like to know if there is a possibility to have a more "modern" cockpit for the Mi-8? I have the NS430 but that is a standalone unit, not integrated with radios etc.

I would not mind the new cockpit to be an addon.

I doubt it. It's not just a 3d overlay. What you're really asking for is a whole different aircraft with completely different avionics and flight systems.

Unfortunately, people don't have the good taste to ensure the Mi-8 sells well enough and the Russian government keeps enough of the newest variants classified that this is rather unlikely... alas...

Oh I'm aware that the fully digital cockpit is the newest version and a different airframe. I'm more refering to this. This should be a modernized MITV1. 916083.jpeg.5019796c9d71e18252e067557c527289.jpeg171_1200.jpeg.8ab635990c115e86f38317c558162ba1.jpeg

Still a major 3D & texture rework of cockpit would be required, coupled with new systems implementation. If BST guys didn't do it in the first place, I wouldn't count on it being done for a product well past its initial sale figures. Especially now, when they're not a separate studio anymore and are busy with work being done for ED.

There is no end of modernized digital cockpits for every variant of the Mi-8, the factory will build whatever you order. We have Mi-17s with Honeywell (EADI and EHSI) cockpits as well as full Garmin (G3X) cockpits. (Although, to be fair, those are both aftermarket cockpits.)
