getsno Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 One of our IAF F-15 pilot managed to take a few shots of this amazing sand storm that took place a couple of weeks ago. the top of the storm was 8000 ft. high, and it moved at 60 kmh. on the final picture you can observe when the storm hits an israeli air base, enjoy: 2
Shaman Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Fantastic. I've been aviation meteorologist myself, but had naver a chance to experience that and send METAR with SS code. It's just very unusual to have sandstorm in this part of world :smilewink: Thank you for sharing. If you have even more photographs of this event I'd love to see them. 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer

Ven Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Man, what a coincidence. Been searching google for good sandstorm reference pictures for days because I need it for work and none of'em were as good as these pics. Huge thanks!
Jester_159th Posted May 18, 2007 Posted May 18, 2007 Absolutely awesome photos. Mother Earth certainly has a way of making you realise how small and insignificant we are from time to time doesn't she?
