Dot Option

Could anyone explain me this new options in the Setting? What are they doing?

If you are referring to the label setting Dot Only, it just gives you:

 

^ and ^

 

Which then fades out at distance. Disappears around 6-7 nautical miles or something.

Quickly tested with air targets earlier.

But it‘s non functional. I have ground-targets with all infos and still dot options active

Works here, albeit ground and navy targets are - and - symbols.

Make sure you dont have the label.lua file in your C:\Users\Username\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\View folder. If then just rename or delete.

 

Or if the given mission you are running has its own label.lua included, I guess that could overwrite this new label system too.

I‘ve found the mistake. It was the .lua ;) thanks

I have Deleted it and now there Is nothing anymore. No dots and No labels

Thats strange. You sure you dont see them? They start fading in at around 6-7 nm or so, so they are faint to begin with, and a faint - symbol can be hard to see.

Or, are you using a multi-monitor setup? I read somewhere at some point, that some on multi-monitor werent able to see the labels at all.

I‘ve solved it. I had another lua file :D

I don’t see any dots on my 4K monitor. Other 2 options work well.

Is there any way to force players to not use a custom labels.lua file? Or use a custom one supplied from a server?

I don't see this option. I only have labels on/ off. Is this for stable version or new in the OB?

New in OB.

yes, you can set custom Dot for your missions in the Server. Every client connected should be limited to that Dot system.
