xavnl Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 Hi, HUD is caged, what is this symbol? Is it the real speed vector position? I can't find it in the manual. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Moafuleum Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 Yes. When the HUD is caged, the "usual" velocity vector doesn't point in the right direction. Thus, a ghost VV is needed to indicate the correct direction.
Tholozor Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 That's the ghost total velocity vector. When the HUD is caged, the ghost TVV shows your actual vector. backspace340 Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 It's your ghost velocity vector - when the HUD is caged the velocity vector is centred, the ghost velocity vector shows your true direction of travel.
gary palmer Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 ghost velocity vector when HUD is caged is important for runway landing so you land ON the runway. HUD is influenced by crosswinds and the Ghost velocity vector corrects for that. It is not needed when is no cross or shearing winds upon aircraft.
