Kaptein_Damli Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Hi all! I have some questions for you! 1.) If you fly behind someones jetstream, do you stall? (Like the scene in Top Gun.) I haven´t tried to do it yet, just happened to ask! 2.) How realistic is the flight dynamics in Lock on comparing to real jets? Any jetpilots here which have tried both? I know you really can´t feel any G in a simulator, but I am thinking more of flight behavior. 3.) How big is the "map" in the game. How long will it take to fly from end to end? Haven´t tried that ether, but just wondering! To you "loop" if you fly to the end of map? Thanx in advance! I love this wonderful game! Kuky Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 1. No 2. It seems pretty good but since I am not a real life pilot I shouldn't be the one to judge :music_whistling: 3. To check map size, start lockon, go to missiong builder, then start a new map (but maybe you won't need to). Once you have the map open right click on any point on the map then drag the mouse to any other point on the map... you will see a like and in bottom right corner you will see heading and distance from line point A to point B. I don't think anyone tried (or would be silly enough to try) to fly endlesly in one direction to see if you loop or not ;) Maybe you could set unlimited fuel and be a pioneer and solve this mistery for us :D PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
sp0nge Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 I can answer number 3! The map doesnt end as far as I know. It just has a loop of a couple of squares of map that can be seen forever. I positioned my f15 on the borders, leveled the a/c, max throttle and sped the game up by 5 times or something and it just went on and on, and on.. and on..and on........ Is breaking the laws of gravity illegal? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
AndreyA Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 The map does not end but have no seas, rivers and roads. It is a flat surface.
Kuky Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 ...I positioned my f15 on the borders, leveled the a/c, max throttle and sped the game up by 5 times or something and it just went on and on, and on.. and on..and on........ and you went to the endless unknown :D how long did you fly like that?
