VR, headposition sticked to Seat, what to do ?

Hi there,

i'm on DCS beta.

Since some weeks the position of the head in VR is fixed to the Seat, can't move forward/backwards or sideways. Just rotate in the view - from Pilots headposition.

So I can't go near an instrument, distance keeps always the same.

Just to be sure I didn't aktivate a hokey by incident - I replaced the Users\...\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta folder with an old backup and problem still exsists.

Is there a way to disable that , to have the ability to move my head freely in the cockpit in VR again ?

Thanks a lot

Hi Sloot, which headset are you using? I had this issue with the Samsung Odyssey WMR and it had to do with not calibrating in the cliffhouse before starting a game.

EDIT: you might find more help by asking a moderator to move this thread to the VR section of the forums.

Sounds like your headset is losing sight of it's sensor...assuming it's a Rift :)

Map the reset VR position binding to a key and use it.

You dont have to map that. It is "Num5" at any time.

So, do u have the problem in other titles?

I myself find it much easier to have VR re-center mapped to a button on my HOTAS, than reaching out trying to hit numpad 5 with a headset on.

OP's problem sounds more like a tracking issue problem to me.

Thanks for your replies :-) And sorry for late reply

It's not about recentering VR, that works very well with Num 5, but unfortunately not on warthog hotas.

It is just for some weeks, before it worked well.

Now i cant move from the(now fixed) position , before I was able to move i.e. go near an instrument with oculus rift.

I just can look around.

Well that definitely sounds like a tracking issue. Make sure your Rift has a clear view of your sensor/s.

The Rift uses internal gyros to sense head axis movements. The external sensors track your headset's position in 3D space.

I only have one sensor active when I sit in my cockpit, works perfectly.

Oh sh**t, your right.

Now i understand, never thought its coming from a sensor issue of the rift.

Sensor was turned around by somebody who did clean the room (me).

Thanks very much !!! works again.
