BitMaster Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 (edited) You might wanna check it out ;) https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/nvidia-driver-slimming-utility.html read the posts below, got some info * edit: The tool alters the NV installer package so you get a smaller, tuned, NV installer package, only with the features you want, if you dare ;) Edited October 8, 2018 by BitMaster Gigabyte Aorus X570S Master - Ryzen 5900X - Gskill 64GB 3200/CL14@3600/CL14 - Sapphire Nitro+ 7800XT - 4x Samsung 980Pro 1TB - 1x Samsung 870 Evo 1TB - 1x SanDisc 120GB SSD - Heatkiller IV - MoRa3-360LT@9x120mm Noctua F12 - Corsair AXi-1200 - TiR5-Pro - Warthog Hotas - Saitek Combat Pedals - Asus XG27ACG QHD 180Hz - Corsair K70 RGB Pro - Win11 Pro/Linux - Phanteks Evolv-X
BuzzU Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 I'm not getting this. Can't we do the same thing when we install the drivers? I always choose what I want installed and the list looks the same as this tool. How does this help performance? Buzz
BitMaster Posted October 8, 2018 Author Posted October 8, 2018 (edited) It's for those who dare to use it BuzzU cuz they "THINK" they know what they're doing LOL ;) If it fails miserably, they call it a lesson but usually can help themselves out of the pitfall. it may help performance as you can untick lots of features that then also won't be running, like telemetry, GF Experience, Streaming services, all those could make it run better, sleaker is usually better. Only some of thos ecan be unticked in NV installer, others only in that tool. I made a package for my rig to work the tool, maybe I should actually install it with a DDU first and see if it matters for my personal perception. etherbattx Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 it did delete a lot of the Bloatware i’m all for cleaning afterwards, but any idea how the bloatware got on there in the first place?
The_Nephilim Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 By Bloatware I meant all the stuff it omitted in Misc. tabs.. I was wondering besides it omitting some things do you think this could be a hacker program, is that what you mean by "unsafe"?? Hammer1-1 Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 Nvidia drivers contain pretty much everything you dont really need like Geforce Experience, sound and audio HD drivers and a bunch of other stuff you really dont use -UNLESS- you use shadowplay or livestream your online sessions. Thats pretty much the only reason why I keep GeForce Experience because you cant use shadowplay without it.
