brewber19 Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 Hi Jex, Try PMing a guy called Deadman or 44th_Deadman (I think), he's pretty clued up on skins and is very likely to have virgin versions of the nomera files....or a better clue of how to help. Sorry I can't help, its months since I did any skinning and I'm at my work PC atm :( Good luck ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 487th Helicopter Attack Regiment, of the VVS504 Red Hammers

JEFX Posted June 4, 2007 Author Posted June 4, 2007 Arbitrator Yes, you are right. I am wondering : originally, is there only one file nomera.tga or is there also those 2 other files (nomera-red.tga and nomera-su.tga)? Or were those added during some skin instal? ANYBODY has the original nomera-tga file and could send it to me by email please? my address is rivestjATmusique.umontreal.ca (replace AT by @) thanks many times JEFX [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] In DCS I fly jets with thousands of pounds of thrust... Deadman Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 Hi guys the Nomera file is NOT the only TGA that controls Numbers I need to know which aircraft it is affecting and which skins https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
Alfa Posted June 4, 2007 Posted June 4, 2007 Moved thread.. Jefx, The problem you are having is not a bug(issue with game code), but clearly a mod issue so I have moved your topic here :) . Anyway, the Su-33 numbering/national marking is controlled by two files - the nomera.tga and nomera-red.tga(for alternate red numbering). Most mods that change the nature of the numbering/markings on the Su-33 just involve edited alpha channel mask in those textures - either to change the appearance of the numbers or to delete them, so fixing the problem would be a simple matter of replacing those two texture files with the original ones. However, a few mods take a different(better) approach, which involves editing the Su-33.cmd shape file with a hex editor to change the texture reference inside the model, so that it will load custom named textures - the advantage of this approach is that all other aircraft using the nomera.tga and nomera-red.tga will be unaffected by the mod. If you have installed such a mod at one point, getting hold of the original textures will not solve the problem - you will also need to get hold of the original Su-33.cmd file. Finally a tip concerning modding targa files - when editing these make sure to save the file with the "uncompressed" option checked. I don't think this is the problem in your case(since you say you downloaded the mods), but if the "compressed" option is checked, the result will look similar to your screenshot. JJ
JEFX Posted June 5, 2007 Author Posted June 5, 2007 Thanks to all of you (What a great community!) Deadman: It was all Russian AC that were affected (SU-27, SU-33 and SU-25) Alpha : Thanks. I had an original su-33.cmd file somewhere and I retrieved it. Arbitrator: Thanks for your email, your nomera.tga original file pasted in on top of retrieving my old su-33.cmd file as said by Alpha DID IT! Thanks to you all!
