viper3314 Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Will a Nvidia G-Force FX-5500-256MB PCI card work with the game?
RvETito Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 You should have posted that in the Tech Discussion section but anyway- yes, it will work but don't expect too much. Lots of things you'll have to tweak to have decent frame rate. "See, to me that's a stupid instrument. It tells what your angle of attack is. SuperKungFu Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 yea but don't let that turn you down though. I played this game on a geforce4 ti4200 for 2 years before i got my new comp. I like it so much i just put up with the low graphics and fps. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

viper3314 Posted June 12, 2007 Author Posted June 12, 2007 k thanks i looked at some reviews and im just using this card till i get the new nvidia pci-e card or a radion for high gaming so i will get good fps and graphics out of it.
VMFA-Blaze Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 Yes it will work.. I started out with a 440 and upped it to a 5200, so that I could use DirectX 9... Then I had a 5900 and went to 6600 for one or two months .. Then I got a 6800 ultra, which I kept for a while and still have installed in my other system.... I tried a 7900 when I built my new system 2 months ago, and but RMA'd it... which has brought me up to today with an 8800 gts..:megalol: And by Thursday I should be running the 8800 in SLI.. But the card really isn't the answer here in Lock On.. Its your CPU, that's what really takes the hit on your FPS'... :weight_lift_2: ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
britgliderpilot Posted June 13, 2007 Posted June 13, 2007 k thanks i looked at some reviews and im just using this card till i get the new nvidia pci-e card or a radion for high gaming so i will get good fps and graphics out of it. Remember that for a PCI-E card you will need a new motherboard with a PCI-E slot - PCI-E is NOT compatible with PCI. Blaze is absolutely right, too - CPU power is the biggie. The Intel Core 2 Duos seem to handle Lock On very well - they all overclock very well, and the chips with 2Mb cache are preferable. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
