30mikemike Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 Hi guys... Is anyone experiencing significant drops in performance since the latest update? I certainly am. I've had DCS running butter smooth and locked at 60 FPS to make TrackIR smooth but now after the latest update I'm getting stutters. I've noticed that the FPS is dropping down to 58 sometimes too which it never did before. Getting annoyed with this now.... i7 8700k @ 5.0ghz. Strix GTX1080Ti. 32GB RAM @ 3600. 2x Hyper X SSD’s with DCS on one. Oculus Rift S. Asus PG278-QR. Liquid Series PC with liquid CPU and GPU cooling.

Donut Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 I have noticed a significant increase in stutters as well after the latest update. It’s difficult to pinpoint the cause because they happen randomly in all phases of flight and combat. i5 7600K @4.8GHz | 1080 Ti | 32GB 3200MHz | SSD | DCS SETTINGS | "COCKPIT"
30mikemike Posted November 10, 2018 Author Posted November 10, 2018 Lalt+enter didn't fixed it ? I think it has fixed it actually...Although before I did the alt/enter I rolled back the Nvidia driver to 416.34, the previous one. I'll install the latest again and see what happens. Bit embarrassing if it was the alt/enter that was needed! oops...:( i7 8700k @ 5.0ghz. Strix GTX1080Ti. 32GB RAM @ 3600. 2x Hyper X SSD’s with DCS on one. Oculus Rift S. Asus PG278-QR. Donut Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 Have you tried lalt/enter? The whole LALT/ENTER thing and checking/unchecking the full screen box in settings has always confused me and over complicated things. I currently have full screen unchecked and do not do the LALT/ENTER thing but I could try to see if it does anything. i5 7600K @4.8GHz | 1080 Ti | 32GB 3200MHz | SSD | DCS SETTINGS | "COCKPIT"

Mainly because for the last few weeks it’s been running absolutely perfectly. Anyway, it seems to have stopped the stutters and it appears to be running how it was. Frames locked at 60 and TrackIR is smooth again. I’ll keep my eye on it though! i7 8700k @ 5.0ghz. Strix GTX1080Ti. 32GB RAM @ 3600. 2x Hyper X SSD’s with DCS on one. Oculus Rift S. Asus PG278-QR. Mustang Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 I just turn vsync off in DCS options and use Fast Sync and a 59 fps cap in nvidia inspector, far far better than vsync with non of this FPS halving nonsense.
lipas70 Posted November 10, 2018 Posted November 10, 2018 Where do you setup a 59 fps cap? Frame Rate Limiter? W10 64bit, i9 9900K, 64GB RAM, GTX 1070Ti, 27" FullHD monitor

Very strange, one factor might be because I have fullscreen optimizations switched off for DCS.exe maybe you could try this too, otherwise I don't know what could be causing that.
=Pedro= Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 It works like a charm now. I was applying new settings to DCS_Updater.exe profile in NV Inspector somehow. I created the new DCS_World profile and attached DCS.exe to it. Setting limiter to 59,7 gives me full synchronization? Yes but I now actually use the Frame Limiter V2 at 59 (according to blur busters forum this method uses 59 + 1 framebuffer so is more precise and less prone to stutter) also Max pre-rendered frames set to 1 helps a great deal. =Pedro= Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 Looks like Frame Limiter V2 is only available in version 2.1.3.6 of NV inspector which is quite hard to find online otherwise there is no option to set frames to exact 50. What's MSI mode then ? Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X | i7 9700K@5.0GHz | Asus TUF OC RTX 4090 | 32GB DDR4@3200MHz | HP Reverb G2 | TrackIR 5 | TM Warthog HOTAS | MFG Croswinds

Without Pressing LAlt+Ent in the sim, You will run in borderless window mode and to true Fullscreen. This has been so for ages now - wonde when they will fix it. | i7-10700K 3.8-5.1Ghz | 64GB RAM | RTX 4070 12GB | 1x1TB M.2. NVMe SSD | 1x2TB M.2. lipas70 Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 Mustang, your method works great. Significantly improves performance on my equipment (GTX 1070Ti). I can now set MSAAx2 and SSAAx2 together. W10 64bit, i9 9900K, 64GB RAM, GTX 1070Ti, 27" FullHD monitor
