Would my current hardware run a multiplayer server?

I have my older PC just sitting unused. Could i use it to run a server with just me and two friends.

Didn't know if it would have enough power, any help would be appreciated since I know very little about server hosting.

 

 

I have decent internet speed so that should not be a problem.

Should be fine for a server with 4 players, many things depends also by the mission that you wold like to run, and how long the mission run for.

 

If you can invest some money, I highly recommend an ssd to put OS and game.

Slow reading speed can cause crash/hangs while loading.

I've hosted 8 players on an i5 4670k with only 16 GB memory fine, slightly faster but not an awful lot of difference. As said previously, depends on the scripts you have running and the amount of AI.

Things "should" improve when ED release the planned standalone server, which has de-coupled the requirements for the graphics side of things, and should reduce hardware requirements (as least for calculations of the visuals).
