reilar Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 Tanks for the link. Very interesting to read. Didn't know there were four Viggens involved. The two JAs that arrived first beside the Blackbird was new to me. Regarding the second pair, what I've been told, they were actually AJs (not JAs as is mentioned in the article). I'm pretty sure this is correct because one of the pilots I can identify as an AJ driver by name. Maybe someone will be interested making a DCS scenario out of it:)
Rudel_chw Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 Pity that there is no SR-71 Mod to use in DCS :( For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
Redglyph Posted December 1, 2018 Posted December 1, 2018 Nice story, thanks for sharing! :) Pity that there is no SR-71 Mod to use in DCS :( It would be an awesome module technically speaking, but it wouldn't make sense in the relatively "small" DCS maps (and here I emphasize "relatively"). This bird best operates at speeds beyond 3.05 M and altitudes higher than 71000 ft. With a maximum load factor of 1.5 and a turn radius of more than 40 NM, this would allow for little excitement, even if there was a map big enough for a significant flight (and a PC powerful enough to load the required objects the Blackbird is able to photograph - probably the entire map, actually). Finally, the spy role is not supported at all in the current missions. Still, that would be a challenge to operate, even more with only one pilot :) System specs: Win7 x64 | CPU: i7-4770K | RAM: 16 GB | GPU: GTX 980 Ti 6 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS | MFG rudder pedals | SATA3 SSD | TrackIR
