TWC_Alamo Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 I am a proponent of "look and click" as it seems the most natural in the cockpit. I don't like reaching for the mouse, so I have the "USE MOUSE" box unchecked in the VR setting. I use HomeFries's free Target profiles for TM HOTAS, which allows multiple functions for each of the HOTAS buttons. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=116454&highlight=target+profiles His VR profiles maps the trim hat to the mouse buttons and wheel as shifted function (or not). The only downside is the small cursor that tracks your vision. But the most annoying problem I have in VR if I do happen move the mouse, is loosing focus out of DCS, which results in the controls freezing. I run multiple monitors and even with the CONFINE MOUSE box checked, I still end up with my system focus. DeltaMike Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 I keep a keyboard with an integrated trackpad in my lap, but I'm using it less and less. I also bought a USB keypad for $12 and glued some beads to the buttons so I could find em blind, use that for gears, flaps, views, and kneeboard. More I use the Oculus controllers the more I like em; I only use the mouse/keyboard when I'm in pause anymore. You can't do two things at once, for example pressing a button while holding like the bittest switch. Biggest problem with Oculus IMO is gear and flaps, love what people are doing with 3D printers and the Warthog throttle but for now the keypad is the el cheapo solution. May just give up and map those to the HOTAS. Other thing is moving the throttle to idle detent, which helps in cold starts. If you look at the A4 for example, I map the comm menu to the com1 switch on the HOTAS, I can do a cold start without touching the keyboard. All I need for the F18 is the ability to move the throttles off idle detent to accomplish the same thing. Takes a little getting used to, but now I have more buttons than I need. I need another hand, but not more buttons. Ryzen 5600X (stock), GBX570, 32Gb RAM, AMD 6900XT (reference), G2, WInwing Orion HOTAS, T-flight rudder
