gargue Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 Does Anyone know if ILS now work for Airport Lands??? So we may put in a ILS Freq and use that freq for land procedures?:D Regards, Snowman_one Gary Argue II “De Oppresso Liber” — "To Free the Oppressed." email: gargue@gmail.com I am a Dyslexic and Disabled. So if you can't read something i wrote email me and write some back explaining and I'll get back to you. So Now I have a lot of time to flight and learn. Chuck_Henry Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 The F/A-18C does not have ILS capability. The signals for civilian airfield ILS and carrier/Naval Air Station ICLS are entirely different and incompatible. The legacy F/A-18 can fly TACAN approaches, the plates for which are available for free on Skyvector. The Super Hornet has supposedly been approved for RNAV (GPS), but as far as I know the Marine Corps (the only remaining US military operator of the F/A-18C) has not bought into that since they plan to retire their Hornets by 2030 and TACAN/GCAs have been good enough.
delevero Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 There is an ILS mod somewhere that allow you to have ILS in the hornet. Search for it on google or here on the forum and you find it. I only tried it one time and was able to land via ILS in Dubai INT airport.
TonyG Posted December 29, 2018 Posted December 29, 2018 I did a mod that adds ICLS to the airport’s in the Caucasus that already had an ILS or a PRMG approach. ICLS Caucasus Mod I’ve done the NTTR as well, just haven’t uploaded it yet. 9800X3D, MSI 5080 , G.SKILL 64GB DDR5-6000, Win 11, MSI X870, 2/4TB nVME, Quest 3, OpenHornet Pit

Kappi Posted December 31, 2018 Posted December 31, 2018 How about the other F-18C operators in the world that don't operate from carriers? Does anybody know if they modified the C variant to being able to use ILS? ___________________________________________ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Looking forward to it, Belsimtek!

Does anybody know if they modified the C variant to being able to use ILS? I believe that is the case. Not 100% sure but I think the Aussie and Canadian Hornets have this ability. Before you ask DCS has stated many times that they will not be adding ILS capability to the Hornet.
