  1. Suggestion. Sometimes it happen that both AI or your own wingman have to eject or make an emergency landing out in the field. Especially in multiplayer it would be nice to have the option to pickup stranded friendly pilots instead of them just ESC and leave the game. There for i like to suggest a feature that when people eject that when a player land with his parashut that he can run, and also activate a little emergency beacon that helicopters can use to find him. When helicopter land within 50m the player or the heli pilot should be able to jump into the cargo area and when player is delivered to a friendly base the "life" should be returned, OR given some kind of extra supply points as a reward. - maybe there need to be some kind of cheat function so people dont eject again and again near their base to get some easy points. This will make it more fun for the many transport heli pilots out there like mi8 and huey, mi24 and bind the players better together so it matter for the helicopters to come get you. maybe it would add to the emertion if the ejected player had a pistol and a few clips of ammo.. Not that it matter that much since they wont be able to really do anything but at least its there when you run arround in enemy territory while looking for a good location to hide or be picked up. ( maybe a few flares the player can hold in his hand could be usefull as well.. example red or blue smok depending on the side you play on ). ps. If pilot eject over water he should spawn in a small orange boat. To pick him up over at example 10m and via radio menu load into cargo ( something like that )
  2. I dont know why it look like it does.. However i know one thing.. Flaming cliff 3 have the su33, f15c and su27 in one package. So as long as you have flaming cliff 3 then all the above planes should be avliable for your ingame no matter what, and i also think there is some missions.
  3. When i visit the page and press Download it say "page not found". Try to reupload the file. And by the way thank you looking forward trying the campaign ;-)
  4. in the f16 you can only use one of the radios to talk to the tanker. So try to use the other radio and see if he answer you on ;-) ( i think its com2 you have to use )
  5. I own most of the planes and all heli and most maps. My dcs is 155GB large. My advice buy a HD that is 1TB large if you can afford it, and then install all of your games on that harddisk instead of c:\ Example all my games are installed on d:\ so even if windows break down and i format c:\ then i dont have to download anything on d:\ again, but i can just install example steam ontop of steam on d:\steam and then all games work instant... and the same with dcs you dont even have to reinstall dcs just press play and activate your keys again.. that is it.. ;-) Regarding m.2 or ssd. For gaming SSD is good enough, actual there is 0 fps difference ingame once the game is loaded. Basicly you get a little bit faster loading time before a mission, and maybe a tiny bit faster when you load the map ingame the first time.. second time you load the map you wont see any difference in speed. M.2 is more expensive than ssd. So if i where you get a 1tb or 2tb ssd instead than an m2 harddisk. PS:.. Now a days modern video games are HUGE, I really recommend to buy a 2tb harddisk if you can afford it... Example dcs is 155gb,, read dead redemption is 115gb, ect ect so if you own 10 AAA titles then the 1tb harddisk is full very fast... Just saying buy the 2TB hd if you can afford it. OR a 256gb m2 for windows on c:\ and a 1tb or 2tb SSD d:\ for games and software. That would be the optimal thing to do with best result.
  6. tip when air refuling in the f16. turn on cat III in the plane this make the movement of the stick more slow = more easy to make small adjustments. But in general if you practive air refueling every day for 30 minutes then you properbly be an expert 5-7 days later. I can refuel with any joystick even if they are not precise, its just a matter of practice again and again and very fine adjustment. Also try to notise when you are alligned perfect and taking fuel how it feel, and the location oof your plane to example wing tips and nose.. try to find some reference points ect. But in general the light system work pretty well, except for the very first time you aproach the tanker then you need to move the horisontal green bar up a little bit els the refuel operator will not start the refuling process. But after that you can refuel with both green bars directly in the center it work really good... BUT the correct location when refuling is a pretty small box you have to fly in. But with practice you can do it ;-) ( ps. in f18 you can turn on the autopilot and keep altitude.. that make it even more easy to refuel... but in the f16 you cannot refuel with autopilot on. ).
  7. I though i post the following in the forum thread. I just want to say that dcs world run better in VR in 2020 than in example november 2019 and i dont know why or if there was an update or something. I know steam vr was updated several times, and maybe that is the reason. Or maybe an nvidia driver update in 2020 did something. I have a pimax 5k+ Its a bit difficult to say the excact fps since it variate what map and where you fly. But in generel I now have 45fps almost always even above big citys. I can see planes further away, example the tanker i can see from 8-10miles away ( in f16 ) , i dont think i could do that before ( at least it was more difficult ). in general the VR feel much better and more smooth. Anyway, thank you. ;-) PS. the above could be that I now get electricity from another source in my home and pimax tracking somehow is better ( i live in an older house.. for some strange reason not all wallplugs in the house can be use for pimax 5k it simply wont turn on.. I am not electrician, but maybe there are some noice/resisatance or the hz of the power need to be adjusted or something. ) Ryzen 3900x nvidia 2080rtx Steam VR BETA ( automatic settings, nothing tweaked or changed ) Piplay software (pimax vr software ) I turned on parallel projekction, and i changed the graphic slider ( super sampling ) to 1,4 to get a better image. ( cant remember the excact name of it ) I have a hunch that my better fps might have something to do with me now using another wall power plug since pimax 5k is pretty power sensitive.. I need an electrician to verify some things if the power in my house need to be tweaked.. example i cant plugin pimax in any power wall plug, it wont turn on everywhere in my house. In 2019 i got power from my "computer room"... today i get power from my kitchen via a long cable... not 100% sure if that is the reason why i have better performance.

  9. It depend how heavy you are. If you have a full load of bombs and fuel tanks, then a guess 27.000 ( right below where you start to contrail. ) If you only have AA weapons and fuel then above the Contrail zone guess 37.000feet. BUT if you actual plan to go down and fight, or go into dogfight then be very aware that all the fuel you spend on going up so high you might miss when you want to go home again. Going really high i would say is only usefull when you have 2 bombs and fuel tanks and want to go very far or fly very fast ( but you also be very easy to spot via radar ) so i guess its mostly usefull in friendly territory or when you ferry from a-b. I guess on average go for example 27.000feet or if you make no contrail 30.000ft. Im no expert, but its not a bad advice ;-)
  10. im not 100% sure.. it have been debated before and ED said something about that the carrier will be avaliable for everyone. However only people who pay for it will have all features. ( that way there will only be a need of one carrier ingame making it possible for all people to play together though they dont own the carrier ) Example if you dont own the f14, you can still see it ingame and shoot it but you just cant fly it if you dont own it.. The same should be possible for the carrier, so you can land/takeoff but all the fancy new graphics and extra features do not work. If you want the features buy it.
  11. im not 100% sure but if i recall correctly then its planned that we in the future can open the notebook ( yellow page ) and there change the laser code before takeoff.. Just like in the F5 plane. ( and ofcourse via the editor )
  12. Hello :helpsmilie: last night our squad where training on the nervada map and used the tgp and gbu-12. We are all experience and know how to set it up and make it work. All the flight members where in a holding patern searching with their TGP in a height from 27.000 - 32.000 feet. ( reason to stay high above sam treats, and also from up there its more easy to use the TGP. ) I was my self in 29.000 feet all the time. When i found a taget i track the vehicle and lock onto it and i fly a bit away and turn arround and via the CCRP mode the computer calculate when i should drop my bomb.. ( my speed was about 300 so not that fast ) Though i have used the tgp and lgb bombs before i miss 2 times before i hit the vehicle and thought that was strange. ( yes laser was on, and code programmed, and L blinking in the HUD. about 10 minutes later we all cirle to take out a group of vehicles at another location but in different heights. And the same happen to my wingmen they miss their target. We did ofcourse not use the Laser at the same time, since we are aware we can only use 1688 on tgp and bomb at the moment so only drop one bomb at a time. We tested IF the laser beam could reac a taget by doing body lazing and my laser was picked up by another guy without problems. He missed with two bombs and hit with the third bomb. Finaly i wanted to drop my last bomb and i found a target manualy and lock on and fly a bit away and then come in to drop the bomb, height 29.000 speed 350. When my ccrp reached 0 it drop the bomb, but another player notised that i actual drop the bomb directly above the target and not example 30 seconds before.. that is a bit wird. I am wondering do anyone know how 4 experienced f16 pilots who know how to use the gbu12 and tgp can miss that many times, are there some kind of limitation or maybe a conflict when to many planes are in the air. ( tip on nevada map when i fly and train my self i hit 4 out of 4 every time ) But on nervada with 4 wingmen i hit 1 out of 4. PS.. i think that we all edited the coordinate manualy. Example at waypoint 2 there are tanks, and one player see them the other do not... The waypoint is passed on and programmed while tgp is in ccip mode and when finished entering we switch to ccrp and camera turn to that area.. i dont know if this might be the reason something with the drop countdown is wrong. Anyone have an idea if its a multiplayer bug maybe . ?
  13. My tiny advice. If you fly sims often and have been doing so for many years and find flying interesting then i would recommend to get a quality joystick. Do not expect any plastic joystick to be precise for more than 6-12 month HOWEVER yes you can fly the planes and pretty well though.. just be aware the sticks get a bit off. But example the x56 is a good joystick on a medium budget. While example the warthog is more reliable The most expensive joysticks such as virpil and VKB and other dexpensive joystick uses much better quality sensors that will be precise for many years and also the internal parts are wheel bearings and such.. with other words its mechanical vs example the x56 that have allot of plastic stuff inside. In the long term it might be cheaper to buy a quality joystick, than buying a new "x56" every 2 years if you fly allot and you get unprecise. The good think about the more cheap joysticks are you can change them more often and get something that look better or work a little different. The x56 twist is okay then you avoid buying a rudder. In jets you dont use rudder that much ( depends ) but if you fly helis you might want to consider rudder pedals. ( and the word "TRIM" and let the heli do the hard stuff so you can sit and relax while you fly els you get tired in legs and wrist ect.. trim ). I had the logitech g940 ( actual its was pretty good ) the x52, x56 and x56pro ( i think it was named ) They all became unprecise after about 6 month. Now i have the virpil and its still 100% precise 1 year later. BUT expensive
  14. Here and now i recommend to get the F/A18 Reason, it is further in development and have more features and weapons = fun The f16 is in early development and have allot of bugs and missing features and missing weapons. It will take +1 +2 years before its finished. In the long term i do recommend the f16 since its faster, and a cool and very populare plane that many nations own and use. It can do most things, except land on the carrier but instead its fast, and agile. OR get the F14 that is a really cool "old school" plane.. its powerfull, have long range A/A and you can also laser bomb with it or drop allot of ordinary freefall bombs. AND it can land on the carrier. And its even good in dogfight despite its a big plane.
  15. Tip. To do a good landing in the MI 8, then look at the dial that show how many ft pr minute that you are dropping with ( how fast you decent ) Aim for a landing with max 200-300ft pr minute and you will walk away from any landing. ;-) ( its in the lower right side of the pilots instrument panel ) If you hear the heli "shaking" then nose down a bit or add more power and it goes away. You mostly hear that sound if you decent to fast or is about to loose lift during landing. But you can land faster and "harder" IF you practice and find the sweet spot where you fly forward while you pull back and then level out at the right time. This require some practice. PRO TIP for alle helicopters. trim trim trim and trim some more... do not fight the helicopter, it should be almost like you can let go of your joystick and it fly it self. Els you get tired during long flights. Els i highly recommend the mi8 it fly really good, but you will die allot if you try to fight with it in a battle... think of it as being made of glass since a a single bullet from an infantry man can take out the heli.. ( ;-( a bit unrealistic i think ) Els the ka50 is also a really cool heli. ( and and soon ka50 3 will come with better defences and upgraded stuff of the heli ).
