CBStu Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 I am a 2 month newbie flying a P51D in the quick action intercept. Seems to me that bomber is extremely hard to kill. Realizing my skills are on a newbie level, but many times I have seen smoke from both engines, white or black, sometimes white from one and black from the other, and it just keeps flying. So, from the smoke, I assume I have been making hits. It is also quite fast. I have been doing 370 and barely able to gain on it. And that is while it is streaming smoke which one would think would reduce it's speed. Does this seem normal to those of you w/ more experience?
M1Combat Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 The damage model is being worked on. I'm not sure if that includes the bombers or not but I think it will. Also... yeah... they do take some damage :). Nvidia RTX3080 (HP Reverb), AMD 3800x Asus Prime X570P, 64GB G-Skill RipJaw 3600 Saitek X-65F and Fanatec Club-Sport Pedals (Using VJoy and Gremlin to remap Throttle and Clutch into a Rudder axis)
Kang Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Just as a wild guess: you could possibly increase the amount of damage you deal on target by making sure to engage at the correct range. The manual should point out what the set gun convergence for the P-51 is (as far as I know there is no way to set it?). Firing close to that range makes sure your shots don't scatter over a wider area but land in one place. That can make a rather big difference for machine guns, especially against the somewhat sturdy maritime patrol craft and the like you are likely to engage right now.
