btw is that right? one of them.. no wait, two of the viper pilots wear Eyeglasses?

Does the Turkish Airforce or any Airforce accept Near-sighted persons?

I thought fighter pilots have to be in 20/20.

It's not important if you've astigmat at your eyes. The thing is they don't use it during flight. :pilotfly:

I thought too pilots are required to have 20/20 vision?! what gives? If they dont need them why wear them?

It gives you to rest your eyes. Btw let me tell you something... Not all glasses to fix your eye sight defect. It can rest your eyes too. In TuAF Pilots have obligation to check their bodies at military hospital twice in a year.

That's the first time I hear that... optical glasses do affect eyesight whcih is why they are invented in the first place. It's first time I hear optical glasses being used to rest the eyes... surely people using eye lenses might want to use glasses to rest their eyes... but only because eye lenses are tiring on the eyes a lot. Pilots should have best vision possible which is why they are required to have 20/20 eyesight and if you do have good eyes you wouldn't need glasses... so again, first time I hear this.

Actually I'm suprised cause you have not seen glasses to rest your yes with non-numbered glass. Second thing is how you can understand a glasses which is numbered or without number? I'm using here to rest my eyes front of PC now because of I'm getting headache if I stay front of my monitor long time.

Conclusion, if Turkish Air Force let to the pilot fly who use glasses, that's mean there is no problem ;) Btw I should tell you that those people who you seen at photos, they're adv. vipers because they've horse sign at planes.
