RuskyV Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 (edited) I know i originally posted this in the bug forum but it got locked down stating its "Not a Bug" but an explanation on why it functions this way, the inclusion of any type of explanation would have been nice rather than just a locked down thread. I have notice when using the RWR functions on the Control Indicator Panel and when using the "OffSet" button to separate contacts, (If this button is left active) then RWR freezes and doesn't update. this happens when ever power is applied to the RWR regardless of the dispenser bypass switch or any other associated switches are used in combination, as soon as the OffSet button is pressed it pause's all contacts. Not sure if this is working as designed or if this is a bug, i have not seen any mention of this behaviour in the manual though. anyone else seeing this? im sure this can be discussed maturely. Edited January 11, 2019 by (504)Blade

naizarak Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 i haven't experienced this but i've noticed that the offset function doesn't apply to new RWR contacts and they all end up bunched together
Eldur Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Noticed that as well when it was new, and IIRC someone of the staff (could've been cofcorpse) said this is how it works. You press it one, check what you've got there and then press it again to come back to normal operation of the RWR. This also correlates to the button animation. As you press it, it comes back out and the light goes on. Press it again, same happens, but the light then goes off.
SCU Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 (edited) i haven't experienced this but i've noticed that the offset function doesn't apply to new RWR contacts and they all end up bunched together I made a thread (link) on the bugs section about this and they labeled it as [missing track file], I don't see how this issue needs a track file as it's a known behaviour and doesn't require anything special to trigger (except maybe having many contacts in the same direction), plus I have finals nowadays and haven't opened DCS for weeks now. In my thread I linked to some example videos of real life Hornet HUD tapes which prove that it's impossible to get contacts to bunch up on eachother in those real life HUDs (therefore I assumed in those vidoes they had offset mode on), plus many others that I haven't linked. Edit: I also haven't ever experienced the problem the OP mentions until last I played the game (using last OB update when it came out IIRC).
